Hillingdon Women's Centre is a registered charity run as a collective. All the business of the centre is dealt with at open meetings held every six weeks.
We have one paid worker and rely on the volunteers to help with the running of the centre.
Currently we have the following volunteering vacancies:
- Fundraiser Someone who is part of a funding group to get together and plan ideas and implement them on how HWC can raise funds, not asking people at doors or on the street to sign up (unless you want to do this).
- Bid Writer
- Drop-in volunteer We are looking for women with good listening, research and support skills to empower women onto their own future path. Vacancies only available monday to wednesday afternoons.
- Voluntary Counsellors must be in their final year of study or fully qualified and have at least 30 hours of 1-2-1 face to face counselling experience.
- Crisis Counsellors must have at least 250 hours of 1-2-1 counselling experience and could be someone working towards accreditation.
- Newsletter Co-ordinator: We are looking for a woman who would like to co-ordinate a publication of a newsletter on a regular basis. who can encourage women to contribute articles etc. and would like to put in articles relevant tp women's issues and HWC.
Vacancies only available monday to wednesday afternoons.
- Director/Trustees-must have experience of the women's sector, be women friendly, take an active role in the centre and take responsibility. Be willing to learn to, or know how to work collectively, be willing to be CRB checked and attend regular evening meetings.
- Planning and Policy collective member whose role is to attend meetings (3 in a year) to help plan or make decisions on policy, funding matters and which activities, etc. take place at Hillingdon Women's Centre. Attending three meetings and filling out a membership form will qualify you as a full member with the right to vote on major decisions at the centre (there is no membership fee). Marathon Runners or other fundraising activities: We are looking for people (not just women) to raise funds for HWC by running marathons, other races or via other activities (these do not have to be held at HWC). If you would like to help HWC to raise money by organising fundraising activities or by collecting sponsors for us please contact us to discuss your idea. We look forward to hearing from you.

Volunteer solicitors for the legal advice service.
