Hillingdon Women's Centre

OPEN TO ALL WOMEN

Hillingdon women's centre 'Herstory'

In 1983 a small group of women in the Hillingdon area met in each other's homes and encouraged by a Greater London Council (GLC) initiative, formed themselved into the Hillingdon Women's Group, operating on a collective basis. By 2003, this had expanded into the Hillingdon Women's Centre (HWC), which provides both a welcoming base for the members and many services for women in the neighbourhood, but retains the collaborative aspiration of its earliest days, to encourage women from all backgrounds.

A book has been written about the history of the Hillingdon women's centre, how it came into being and what the centre has achieved over the years.

The 'Herstory' book can be downloaded for £10/- by clicking on the link below.
